# "Humanoid robots will reach human-level ability this year" (DEPLOY verdict: Open)

- **DEPLOY verdict:** Open
- **Claim type:** Capability
- **Claimed:** 2026-01-06
- **Implied deadline:** 2026-12-31
- **Claimed by:** [NVIDIA](/companies/nvidia.md)

## How DEPLOY assessed this

Claim made at CES 2026 (January 2026). No humanoid robot has demonstrated human-level ability in any verified deployment as of July 2026. Agility's Digit performs specific warehouse tasks (tote moving) but not "human-level ability" broadly. Figure 03 is in pilot at BMW. Tesla Optimus has no deployment. The claim is the most aggressive humanoid capability prediction in the industry — and it's from the platform provider, not a robot manufacturer. https://www.manufacturingdive.com/news/industrial-robotics-companies-everywhere-says-nvidia-ceo-gtc-2026-abb-fanuc-ai/815042/
