On August [XXX], 2025 at 2:48 AM PT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in San Francisco, California was in a collision involving a heavy truck on [XXX] at [XXX].
The Waymo AV was traveling southbound on a narrow portion of [XXX] with vehicles parked at the curb in both directions when it approached a heavy truck that was traveling northbound on [XXX]. The Waymo AV reversed to yield to the heavy truck and came to a stop at the curb at the intersection with [XXX]. The heavy truck proceeded forward past the Waymo AV and began a left turn onto westbound [XXX] and the left side of the heavy truck made contact with the rear left of the Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. The Waymo AV sustained damage. The passenger in the Waymo AV alleged a minor injury and was transported to a hospital in an ambulance.
