On March [XXX], 2026 at 8:16 AM PT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in Inglewood, California was in a collision involving a heavy truck on [XXX] near [XXX].

The Waymo AV was traveling northeastbound in the second from the right lane on [XXX]. As the Waymo AV approached a queue of traffic for a red light at the intersection with [XXX], the Waymo AV began to slow, activated its left turn signal, and changed lanes to the adjacent left lane, into a space between two stopped SUVs. The Waymo AV then initiated a lane change to the adjacent leftmost lane into a space between a stopped SUV and a stopped heavy truck. The Waymo AV began to cross the dashed white lane line and came to a stop, partially in the adjacent leftmost lane and partially in the third from the right lane. When the light turned green, the Waymo AV and the heavy truck began proceeding forward, and the front right side of the heavy truck made contact with the front left side of the Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. Both vehicles sustained damage.
