On March [XXX], 2026 at 7:29 AM PT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in San Francisco, California was in a collision involving a heavy truck on [XXX] near [XXX].

The Waymo AV was traveling southwestbound at a low rate of speed with its hazard lights activated on a narrow portion of [XXX], made more narrow by a heavy truck parked in-lane facing southwest with its liftgate lowered to the ground and vehicles parked at the south curb facing northeast. The Waymo AV began to maneuver left and slowed to a stop as the heavy truck's liftgate began to elevate. The Waymo AV remained stopped momentarily, then began to proceed forward and to the left to initiate a multi-point turn as the heavy truck's liftgate continued to elevate, and the front right side of the Waymo AV made contact with the rear left side of the heavy truck liftgate. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. The Waymo AV sustained damage.
