On July [XXX], 2026 at 3:40 PM CDT a [Waymo](/companies/waymo.md) Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in Austin, Texas was in a collision involving an SUV on [XXX] near [XXX].

The Waymo AV was traveling southbound on [XXX] and approaching an SUV stopped facing east at a stop sign at the exit of a parking lot at [XXX], in front of and to the right of the Waymo AV. As the Waymo AV approached, the SUV proceeded forward and entered the Waymo AV's lane of travel. The Waymo AV braked and maneuvered to the left, entering the center two-way left turn lane, as the SUV continued forward, and the front left side of the SUV made contact with the rear right side of the Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. Both vehicles sustained damage.
