On July [XXX], 2026 at 2:27 PM PDT a [Waymo](/companies/waymo.md) Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in San Francisco, California was in a collision involving a bus in the passenger loading zone at the [XXX] near [XXX].

The Waymo AV was traveling southwestbound along the north curb of the passenger loading zone at the [XXX] at a low rate of speed, adjacent to and to the right of a bus traveling southwestbound in the passenger loading zone. While the Waymo AV was proceeding forward along the north curb, the bus initiated a left turn into an adjacent parking zone. As the bus was turning left, the Waymo AV began to pass the bus to the right, and as the bus continued to turn, the rear right side of the bus made contact with the front left side of the Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. Both vehicles sustained damage.
