On September [XXX], 2026 at 8:01 PM PDT a [Waymo](/companies/waymo.md) Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in [Los Angeles](/locations/los-angeles.md), [California](/locations/california.md) was in a collision involving an SUV on [XXX] at [XXX].

The Waymo AV was stopped facing north in the dedicated left turn lane on [XXX] for a red light at the intersection with [XXX]. While the Waymo AV was stopped, an SUV initially stopped facing south in the dedicated left turn lane on southbound [XXX], proceeded straight into the intersection with [XXX] and continued traveling straight, approaching the Waymo AV from the front. As the SUV continued forward, it maneuvered to the right and began to enter the leftmost lane of southbound [XXX], and the front left side of the SUV made contact with the front of the stationary Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. Both vehicles sustained damage.
