On June [XXX], 2026, at approximately 2:27 PM PT, a [Motional](/companies/motional.md) Ioniq 5 Robotaxi (VIN [XXX]) was operating in autonomous mode in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a Vehicle Operator in the driver’s seat.

The Motional vehicle was traveling southbound on [XXX], south of [XXX], in the rightmost of two lanes. A bus was stopped in the Motional vehicle's lane of travel directly ahead.

During the lane-change maneuver to move around the bus, the AV signaled and began positioning for a left-lane change but stopped due to traffic. In order to complete the lane change, the Vehicle Operator disengaged the AV system and manually moved the Motional vehicle toward the left lane, where a rapidly approaching vehicle clipped the Motional vehicle's front left quarter panel while passing. The other vehicle did not stop following the collision and fled the scene. Following the impact, the Vehicle Operator pulled over to the side of the roadway. 

No injuries were reported, and no airbags deployed. The Motional vehicle sustained damage to its front left quarter panel but remained drivable. The Motional vehicle had been in manual control for less than 30 seconds before impact. Law enforcement was contacted, and a police report was filed.
