On July [XXX], 2026, at approximately 7:32 PM PT, a [Motional](/companies/motional.md) Ioniq 5 Robotaxi with VIN [XXX] was operating in autonomous mode in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a Safety Driver in the driver’s seat.
The Motional vehicle was traveling in the roadway area near the [XXX] shopping mall and proceeding south on a parking lot street. The Motional vehicle encountered a parked semi-truck and trailer that was fully blocking its lane of travel.

The Motional vehicle initiated a maneuver to safely navigate around the parked semi-truck by momentarily entering the opposite lane of travel before intending to return to the south bound lane.  The Motional Vehicle initiated the maneuver and when reaching the point at which it was parallel with the parked semi-truck trailer,the Vehicle Operator disengaged the autonomous system and assumed manual control to complete the maneuver. 

The Motional Vehicle returned to the Motional facility at the end of operation as planned.  Upon a routine inspection of the vehicle, it was discovered by facilities staff that the vehicle had sustained minor cosmetic damage which does not require repair.  No injuries were reported, and no airbags deployed. The Motional vehicle was not towed from the scene. Law enforcement was not contacted, and no police report was filed.
