Swedish entrepreneur (1881–1961) who founded Electrolux in 1919. Pioneered the domestic vacuum cleaner by adapting industrial models for home use, building Electrolux into a leading brand in vacuum and refrigerator technology. One of the wealthiest men in the world during the 1930s. Also founded the Viking Fund (now Wenner-Gren Foundation) for anthropological research.
