Physicist and founder of Rigetti Computing (2013), a Berkeley-based full-stack quantum computing company using superconducting qubits. He holds a PhD in applied physics from Yale (under Michel Devoret) and spent three years at IBM's quantum computing labs before founding the company through Y Combinator. Under his leadership Rigetti raised approximately 120 million USD in venture capital from Andreessen Horowitz and Vy Capital, and went public via SPAC in 2022. He authored 140+ publications in quantum mechanics and computing. Left Rigetti in late 2022 and joined quantum-focused venture fund QDNL Participations as a partner.
