Co-founder and CEO of IQM Quantum Computers (Nasdaq: IQMX), a Finnish superconducting quantum computing company he spun out of Aalto University and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland in 2018 with co-founders Mikko Möttönen and Juha Vartiainen. Earned his doctorate on superconducting quantum circuits at TU Munich and the Walther-Meissner-Institute, completed 2017, then moved to Helsinki as a Marie-Curie Fellow at Aalto University. Became sole CEO in January 2026 after serving as Co-CEO. Under his leadership, IQM raised over $600M in funding, sold 23 on-premises quantum computers worldwide (more than any competitor), and became the first European quantum computing company to list on a major U.S. exchange in July 2026. Named Handelsblatt Founder of the Year 2023; serves on the European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC) board.
