Sweden's framework for autonomous-vehicle operation, administered by Transportstyrelsen (the Swedish Transport Agency): Ordinance (Forordning) 2017:309 on trials with automated vehicles (in force 1 July 2017), with detailed permit requirements in Transportstyrelsen regulation TSFS 2021:4. Operation requires a Transportstyrelsen permit; a physical driver may be inside or outside the vehicle. This is the framework under which Einride operates its autonomous electric trucks and Pods in Sweden.
