The Ecovacs DEEBOT X2 Omni is an autonomous robot vacuum and mop manufactured by Ecovacs Robotics in Suzhou, China. It delivers 8,000 Pa suction using TrueMapping LiDAR navigation combined with dToF sensors and AI-driven 3D obstacle avoidance. The OMNI Station handles automatic dust emptying, mop pad washing, hot-air drying, and water refilling. An integrated voice assistant called Yiko is active by default with microphones always on. The X2 Omni has a square body design for closer corner cleaning compared to round robots. Released in 2023, it uses 2D and 3D home-environment maps that Ecovacs processes on servers in Singapore and China.

Recording you
The Yiko voice assistant is on by default with microphones always listening for the wake word. A flashing light and sound indicate when recording is active, including during real-time video calls that stream footage over the internet.
Your location
The robot creates 2D and 3D maps of your home including room layout and furniture, and Ecovacs uses those maps and usage logs to build a profile of your preferences and consumption habits.
People around you
The robot's camera watches the environment and blurs detected human shapes. The policy warns that family members or guests who might appear on the footage may be recorded and should be informed.

Training their AI
If you opt into the Product Improvement Plan, photos of objects the robot does not recognize are sent to China for AI training and may be reviewed by Ecovacs employees. Voice recordings from the User Experience Plan are also sent to China for review and AI training.
Shared with others
Voice is shared with Microsoft Azure and Google Dialogflow. Camera footage is shared with Alibaba Cloud in China for object analysis. All data routes through Alibaba Cloud Singapore for storage.
Sent to the cloud
The robot sends home maps, voice recordings, and camera footage to Ecovacs cloud servers in Singapore. Voice is further processed by Microsoft Azure for speech recognition and Google Dialogflow for language understanding.

Deleting your data
Ecovacs says it deletes or anonymizes your data immediately after you close your account, but withdrawing consent does not stop it from continuing to use data it is legally allowed to keep. Remote camera pictures stay until you explicitly request deletion.
How long they keep it
3D maps are kept until a new scan overwrites them, until the robot detects a new home, or until you cancel your account. Ecovacs says it deletes or anonymizes all personal data immediately after account closure.
Kept on the device
Object recognition is off by default. When on, the robot blurs detected human shapes on-device and only identifies object types like chairs or tables, not specific people.
