Privacy Policy

This is a starter privacy policy. It accurately describes how DEPLOY currently handles visitor information, but it should be reviewed by counsel before being relied on for any specific compliance requirement.

Who we are

DEPLOY operates across three properties: the consumer surface at deploy.report (the verified-vs-claimed buyer view of humanoid robots), the registry at registry.deploy.report (the queryable knowledge base of every robot, company, and deployment, including the API endpoints under /v1/), and the DEPLOY publication at news.deploy.report. This policy covers the consumer surface and the registry. Both are operated by the same team on the same infrastructure. The publication at news.deploy.report is operated separately and publishes its own privacy policy at that property.

Information we collect

Request logs. Standard web-server logs of requests to the site and API, including IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp. Retained for a limited period for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.
Aggregate analytics. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are visited and how visitors arrive. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or behavioral profiling.
Account information. If you create an account, we store the email address you sign in with, the timestamp at which we verified that email, and an optional display name (only if you choose to set one). We do not ask for, store, or accept passwords. Sign-in is exclusively by emailed one-time link (see “Accounts and sign-in” below).
Watch lists. If you watch a robot model, we record the association between your account and that model, along with the time you added it. We do not record what you viewed or how long you spent on a page.

DEPLOY uses passwordless sign-in. To sign in, you enter your email address and we send a one-time link to that address. Clicking the link signs you in. The link expires after 24 hours and can only be used once.

We send sign-in emails through Resend, our transactional email provider. Resend processes the message in order to deliver it. We do not use marketing or behavioral profiling against your email address. The only email DEPLOY sends to account holders today is the sign-in link; future notifications (such as updates about a robot model you watch) will be opt-in and individually unsubscribable.

Sessions are stored in our database (not as long-lived browser tokens), which means we can revoke them, and signing out genuinely ends the session. Session cookies are HTTP-only and same-site.

Deleting your account removes your watch list, your stored sessions, and your sign-in linkage in our database. We retain a minimal record of the email address only for the period required by abuse-prevention or legal-hold needs, and we do not use it for any other purpose. Email delivery logs held by Resend are governed by their retention policy.

How we use information

To operate, secure, and improve the consumer surface, the registry, and their API.
To detect and respond to abuse (e.g., rate limiting, blocking malicious requests).
To honor data-access and deletion requests where applicable.

We do not sell personal information. We use standard infrastructure providers (hosting, database, analytics) that necessarily process request data to deliver the service. We may disclose information when required by law or to prevent serious harm. We do not share visitor information with advertisers or data brokers.

Cookies and similar technologies

DEPLOY uses cookies sparingly, primarily for essential functions and, if analytics is enabled, for aggregate measurement. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies.

Your rights (California / CCPA)

California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, the right to request deletion of that information, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the addresses below. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request.

Children

DEPLOY is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page or via an in-product notice when feasible.
