Thymio is an open-source educational robot designed by researchers at EPFL in collaboration with ECAL , produced by Mobsya, a nonprofit association. Originally created in 2011, Thymio II is a small affordable mobile robot intended for STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics), teaching programming and robotics to learners from primary school through university. Thousands of Thymio robots are deployed in Swiss and French schools, with the canton of Geneva and Vaud placing bulk orders exceeding 900 units.
