Thymio is an open-source educational robot designed by researchers at EPFL in collaboration with ECAL, produced by Mobsya, a nonprofit association. Originally created in 2011, Thymio II is a small affordable mobile robot (~100 EUR) intended for STEAM education, teaching programming and robotics to learners from primary school through university.

The platform features open-source hardware and software, with a visual programming language developed at ETH Zurich. Thymio 3 is scheduled for release in September 2026.
