HP acquired Humane's Cosmos AI operating system, most of its technical talent, and its intellectual property (300+ patents and applications) for $116M, forming HP's new AI lab 'HP IQ'. Announced February 18, 2025 and completed at month-end. The deal explicitly excluded the Ai Pin hardware business, which was shut down (existing devices ceased core functionality February 28, 2025).
