Koito Manufacturing acquires Cepton

Automotive-lighting tier-one Koito Manufacturing completed a take-private acquisition of lidar maker Cepton on January 7, 2025. Each Cepton share was converted to $3.17 in cash; Cepton became a privately held, indirect Koito subsidiary and was delisted from Nasdaq. Koito had been Cepton's largest shareholder (following a $100M investment closed January 2023).
