“At Tesla's We, Robot event (Oct 10, 2024), Optimus humanoid robots appeared to autonomously interact with attendees — serving drinks, dancing, and holding natural conversations. Bloomberg, The Verge, and Morgan Stanley confirmed the robots were remotely operated by humans. MKBHD questioned whether it was 'the greatest robotics demo ever, or MOSTLY remote operated.' Tesla issued no official correction. Musk later acknowledged teleoperation in 2025.”
