BYD Robotics is the humanoid robotics division of [BYD](/companies/byd), China's largest electric vehicle manufacturer, codenamed the Yao-Shun-Yu project. Launched in late 2024 under BYD's 15th Division, the Shenzhen-based unit is developing humanoid robots leveraging BYD's automotive manufacturing capabilities and AI software stack. The company plans an open robot platform supporting both in-house and partner-developed robots, with potential distribution through BYD's auto dealer network.
