Nvidia acquires Hugging Face
Nvidia agreed to acquire Hugging Face, the open-source AI model hub, for $12.9 billion. Nvidia was already a shareholder from a 2023 round valuing Hugging Face at $4.5B. The deal would give Nvidia control of the largest repository of open-source AI models and a cloud inference platform. Neither company has publicly confirmed as of Aug 27, 2026.
