XREAL x Google
On Jan 6 2026 Google and XREAL announced a multi-year extension of their strategic partnership, with XREAL named a lead hardware partner for the Android XR ecosystem. Per the joint PR Newswire release, the collaboration builds on Project Aura (then slated for 2026) and aligns XREAL's long-term hardware roadmap with Android XR, including bringing Android XR to optical-see-through devices such as wired XR glasses and expanding Android XR developer support.
On June 16 2026 XREAL unveiled XREAL AURA (formerly Project Aura), powered by Android XR and Qualcomm Snapdragon Reality Elite, with a stated Fall 2026 consumer launch window. Frame partnership roles and launch timing as company-stated.
