Chuck Hull

Co-founder and CTO of 3D Systems. Inventor of stereolithography (SLA), the first 3D printing technology, patented in 1986 (US 4,575,330). Coined the term "stereolithography" and created the STL file format. Awarded the National Medal of Technology and Innovation by President Biden in 2023. Inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame (2014) and elected to the National Academy of Engineering (2025).
