Cleve Moler

Co-founder and Chief Mathematician of MathWorks. Created the original MATLAB at the University of New Mexico in the 1970s as a free academic tool for matrix computation. Founded MathWorks with Jack Little and Steve Bangert in 1984. Previously chairman of the computer science department at the University of New Mexico and author of seminal linear algebra textbooks.
