Co-founder and Chief Scientist of Bloomfield Robotics, a Pittsburgh-based AgTech startup using AI-powered vision to monitor specialty crops plant-by-plant. A research professor at the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute for 15+ years, he developed robotic technologies for agriculture and scientific exploration before spinning Bloomfield out of CMU in 2019. Bloomfield was acquired by Kubota Corporation in September 2024 to scale plant-level intelligence across global specialty crop farming.
