Kenzo Saito

Japanese industrialist who founded Tokyo Denki Kagaku Kogyo K.K. (now TDK Corporation) on December 7, 1935 to commercialise ferrite — the world's first oxide-based magnetic material, invented by Yogoro Kato and Takeshi Takei at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Saito secured backing from Kanebuchi Spinning's Shingo Tsuda.

TDK grew into a global electronic components and sensors giant with 100,000+ employees; its "Development of Ferrite Materials and Their Applications" was designated an IEEE Milestone in 2009.
