Marcelo Becker

Associate Professor in the Mechatronics Department at the Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo (USP), where he directs the Mobile Robotics Lab. He received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on Mechatronics from USP in 1993 and his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of São Paulo.

His research focuses on mobile robots for agriculture, inspection robots, autonomous miniature flying robots (quadrotors), design methodologies and tools for robotics, and autonomous vehicle navigation, including a collaboration with FIAT on autonomous cars. He has published over 100 papers in robotics and computer science and has been supported by FAPESP. He is a leading figure in Brazilian robotics, contributing to the development of agricultural robotics and autonomous systems research in Latin America.
