Takemitsu Takizaki

Japanese billionaire businessman and founder of Keyence, a leading manufacturer of automation sensors, vision systems, barcode readers, laser markers, measuring instruments, and digital microscopes. Born June 10, 1945, he founded Keyence in 1974 and served as chairman until stepping down in 2015, remaining on the board as honorary chairman.

Under his leadership Keyence became one of Japan’s most profitable companies, renowned for its direct-sales model and high-margin sensor products that serve factory automation worldwide. With an estimated net worth of US$18.6 billion (2022), he is among Japan’s wealthiest individuals. He lives in Osaka and is a keen fossil collector.
