Global robotics
Which country is no. 1 in robotics?
On DEPLOY's record, the United States leads, with China a clear and fast-growing second. The United States has the most robotics makers DEPLOY tracks, the most models, the most deployments, and the most disclosed venture funding. China ranks a clear second and is closing fast. But DEPLOY's record is a curated, English-language registry, so this ranks who we cover most deeply, not a settled count of the whole world's robotics.

There is no official scoreboard for robotics, so DEPLOY answers the way it can defend: from the record it holds. On four measures we track, the United States leads every one. It has the most robotics makers headquartered there, the most published models, the most deployments including the most that are actually operational rather than announced, and the most disclosed private venture funding. China ranks a clear second across the same measures and is closing the gap fastest. Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, France, and South Korea lead the next tier. The honest caveat matters as much as the ranking: DEPLOY's record is a curated, mostly English-language registry, so it captures makers and deployments it can source and verify, which skews toward the United States and Europe. It is not a census of the world's robotics. Industrial robot installed base, where China and Japan have led for years on the International Federation of Robotics count, is a different measure DEPLOY does not fully track. So read this as a ranking of who DEPLOY covers most deeply, each figure dated and sourced, not as a verdict on the entire field.
Where each country leads
On the four measures DEPLOY tracks, one country tops every one, which is the honest finding here, not a manufactured tie. What matters as much is the caveat: this ranks DEPLOY’s coverage, not the whole world.
United States
824 makers tracked, 490 models, 466 deployments (390 operational), and $104.6B in disclosed venture funding. On DEPLOY's record as of Jul 21, 2026, the top country on every measure we track.
China
328 makers tracked, 278 models, 141 deployments (114 operational), and $14.3B in disclosed venture funding. Ranked second on the maker count and closing the gap fastest, scoped to DEPLOY's record.
Not a world census
DEPLOY's record is a curated, mostly English-language registry, so it skews toward the United States and Europe, the makers and deployments it can source and verify. The country robotics scorecard
DEPLOY tracks robotics makers headquartered in 51 countries. The 41 with the deepest coverage are ranked below, each cell a real number dated and sourced or left honestly blank where the record holds nothing. Sorted by makers headquartered there, one lens among several, not a world census. For the maker-level leaderboard see which company leads humanoid robotics.

How we know this
Every figure in the scorecard comes from a dated, sourced record in the DEPLOY registry: published companies and their headquarters, the models they build, deployments of those models, and disclosed funding rounds. A country is derived from each maker's headquarters. Each country's row carries its own deployment and funding receipts; here is a deduped sample.
Each measure is scoped to what is verified on DEPLOY's record and dated. A country is counted from its makers' headquarters, so a maker whose headquarters we cannot resolve to a country is left out rather than guessed. Disclosed venture funding excludes public-market and acquisition events, which are not venture raises. The ranking is of who DEPLOY covers most deeply, not a census of the whole world's robotics.
