Chinese state broadcaster footage of the Chang'e-6 probe's autonomous landing on the Moon's far side (June 2024), part of the mission that achieved the first-ever far-side sample return. A success, attributed to the CNSA program.

The Chang'e 4 lander achieved the first-ever soft landing on the lunar far side on 2019-01-03, touching down in Von Karman crater within the South Pole-Aitken basin using autonomous descent and hazard avoidance. It deployed the Yutu-2 rover, which was reported as a success.
