Avride delivery robot struck a cyclist in Jersey City, who suffered a broken clavicle and concussion
On October 22, 2025, around 5 p.m., a cyclist (Conor Shannon, 32) riding home in a bike lane on Varick Street in Jersey City crashed when an Avride delivery robot, operated in partnership with Uber, unexpectedly darted into the bike lane in front of him. He was thrown over his handlebars, suffering a concussion and a broken clavicle; he reported the robot then attempted to leave the scene. Shannon, represented by attorney Adam Lederman, plans to sue Uber and Avride.
