On April 8, 2025, a ZTO Express Jiushi Unmanned Delivery Vehicle in Xianyang, Shaanxi Province ran over a fallen electric scooter at an intersection, with its left front wheel becoming stuck on the scooter wheel. The vehicle then continued driving, dragging the scooter along the road. The autonomous vehicle failed to detect the fallen e-bike in advance and did not stop despite detecting a collision. The vehicle was manually stopped after detecting wheel abnormality. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was suspended from operation and Jiushi Intelligent Technology is cooperating with traffic police investigation.
