China's Cyberspace Administration fines Didi 8.026 billion yuan ($1.2B) for cybersecurity violations
Following a year-long cybersecurity investigation triggered by Didi's controversial US IPO, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) fined the company 8.026 billion yuan (approximately $1.2B USD) for violations of cybersecurity laws. CEO Cheng Wei and President Jean Liu were each fined $150,000 personally. Didi's apps had been removed from app stores since July 2021.
