DJI Mavic Pro collides with a passenger hot air balloon near Driggs, Idaho
On Aug 10 2018 an unregistered DJI Mavic Pro collided with a Lindstrand 105A passenger hot air balloon near Driggs-Reed Memorial Airport, Idaho; the drone was destroyed and the balloon undamaged with no injuries. Described as the first drone / hot-air-balloon midair on record; the recreational pilot lacked a Part 107 certificate and had overridden geofencing. Source: NTSB CAROL report 98040 (ntsb.gov).
