Chinese-made camera components on K3 Scout USVs found transmitting data to Chinese IP address
Cameras aboard Kraken K3 Scout USVs used by the Royal Marines were found transmitting heartbeat communications to an IP address in China. The cameras contained Chinese-made components sourced via a third party. The MoD removed all internet connectivity from the cameras after discovering the breach during a routine cyber vulnerability assessment. Kraken and the Royal Navy conducted a full audit and stated no sensitive information was shared outside intended channels.
