ADS crash report in Las Vegas, NV involving a ZOOX Zoox (NHTSA SGO 30610-15822)

An unoccupied Zoox autonomous vehicle was traveling south in the right lane on [XXX] toward [XXX] in Las Vegas, when it began slowing for emergency personnel in an active, unblocked emergency fire scene, with heavy smoke obscuring the road ahead. The Zoox vehicle entered the emergency scene, and just before it slowed to a stop, one of the first responders made intentional contact with the front of the vehicle with a hand tool.

The Zoox vehicle then returned to base for inspection and was found to have sustained moderate damage from the intentional contact. No injuries were reported.
