An occupied Zoox autonomous vehicle was stopped at a traffic light in the process of making a right-on-red from northbound [XXX] onto [XXX] in San Francisco. Just as the Zoox vehicle was beginning to get underway, a passenger car (Vehicle 2) approached the intersection rapidly from the cross street and attempted a high-speed abrupt right turn onto southbound [XXX].

The Zoox vehicle braked hard and was nearly stopped when the front end of Vehicle 2 struck the left front wheel, fender and fascia of the Zoox vehicle. After the collision, Vehicle 2 driver reversed, then turned right onto [XXX] and rapidly left the scene without exchanging information.

The Zoox vehicle was found to have sustained moderate damage. There were no reported injuries and police were not notified.
