S Group Starship robot slides into parked car on snowy Helsinki sidewalk, scratching both doors

On Saturday afternoon, 27 January 2024 (the Saturday before Yle's 30 January report), a Starship delivery robot operated by Finnish company S Group was steered by the edge of an unploughed, snowy sidewalk in Helsinki's Pasila district into a parked car and became stuck between a snowbank and the vehicle, scratching both curb-side doors. A passer-by lifted it free and it left the scene (Yle says onto the roadway, Jalopnik says onto the sidewalk).

The passer-by reported a traffic accident to the emergency centre and police followed up. S Group was investigating. Whether S Group accepted liability for the damage was not reported.
