Partnership
Avride x Uber
On Oct 3 2024 Uber Technologies and Avride announced a multiyear strategic partnership to bring Avride delivery robots and autonomous vehicles to Uber and Uber Eats. The release said sidewalk-robot delivery would launch first on Uber Eats in Austin in the coming weeks, then expand to Dallas and Jersey City later that year, with mobility for riders in Dallas expected later the next year.
Avride CEO Dmitry Polishchuk said the plan was to expand Avride robots on Uber Eats to hundreds in 2025, followed by robotaxi service. Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi is quoted. Frame city timing and fleet hundreds as announcement plans (Uber Investor).

Who’s involved
Autonomous-driving company (a subsidiary of Nebius; spun out of the former Yandex self-driving group) operating BOTH sidewalk delivery robots and robotaxis, primarily through a partnership with Uber announced in October 2024. Avride secured up to $375 million in strategic investment commitments from Uber and Nebius to support expansion. Robotaxi: Avride-equipped fully-electric [Hyundai](/companies/hyundai-group) Ioniq 5 vehicles provide public passenger rides on the Uber platform in Dallas (launched December 2025) and Austin, with in-vehicle safety operators present. Delivery: Avride sidewalk delivery robots operate on Uber Eats in Austin, Dallas, and Jersey City (and Philadelphia), and on Grubhub at university campuses including Ohio State. In May 2026, NHTSA opened an investigation into Avride after 16 robotaxi crashes (Dec 2025-March 2026) in Dallas and Austin, citing 'inappropriate assertiveness and insufficient competence'; the company's delivery robots have also drawn scrutiny including a Jersey City cyclist-injury lawsuit.
Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER) is a global ride-hailing and delivery platform. Committed $10B+ to autonomous vehicle investments through equity stakes and robotaxi fleet agreements. Partners with Waymo (exploring exit), serves as AV deployment channel in Austin and Atlanta. Exploring split with [Waymo](/companies/waymo) as tensions deepen. Stock down 16% YTD 2026.
