Partnership
BAE Systems x Cellula Robotics Herne XLAUV
BAE Systems signed a 10-year exclusive agreement with Cellula Robotics to develop Herne, an autonomous extra-large AUV (XLAUV) for military use including anti-submarine warfare, covert surveillance, and underwater infrastructure monitoring. Cellula provides the hydrogen fuel cell-powered vehicle platform, while BAE Systems contributes its Nautomate autonomous control system. The companies successfully conducted an in-water UK demonstration in 2024 and expect market-ready delivery by end of 2026.
