Navantia and TKMS announced cooperation on naval shipbuilding and later described a second memorandum focused on creating a framework for selected submarine projects. Navantia says the work concerns future opportunities, while existing contracts remain independent (Navantia and TKMS initial MoU).

Who’s involved
Spanish state-owned shipbuilding enterprise and a top-10 global shipbuilder, designing and building warships, submarines, and autonomous naval systems for navies worldwide. Navantia is expanding into autonomous surface vessels with its [LASV75](/models/lasv75) concept and deep-tech naval systems. The company operates shipyards across Spain and, following its January 2025 acquisition of Harland & Wolff, four yards in the UK (Belfast, Appledore, Methil, Arnish).
