Scania x sennder (JUNA EV truck-as-a-service)

Scania AB is a Swedish commercial vehicle manufacturer headquartered in Södertälje, Sweden, and a subsidiary of the TRATON GROUP ([Volkswagen group](/companies/volkswagen-group)). Scania produces trucks, buses, and engines, and is developing autonomous truck technology through a partnership with PlusAI, whose SuperDrive Level 4 virtual driver system is being integrated into Scania trucks for on-highway autonomous freight operations. Scania is also deploying autonomous mining trucks and has been testing autonomous vehicles since 2024.

JUNA is the electric-truck-as-a-service joint venture between Scania and German logistics firm sennder. It provides carriers with Scania battery-electric trucks plus charging, maintenance, route analysis, and pay-per-use financing so shippers and carriers can electrify freight routes without buying the vehicles outright.
