WakeMed's Aug 29 2018 release says NCDOT Division of Aviation teamed with WakeMed and Matternet for first-round test flights carrying simulated medical packages from Raleigh Medical Park to a main tower at WakeMed Raleigh Campus under the FAA UAS Integration Pilot Program. The partnership is described as involving blood samples and other medical items across WakeMed facilities. Matternet CEO Andreas Raptopoulos is quoted on first medical drone delivery operations over densely populated U.S. areas; AirMap provided UTM services.
