Bartolomej Janek
Slovak engineer (Ing. Bartolomej Janek, CSc.) who co-invented the TwinSpin® high-precision reduction gear in the early 1990s with Tibor Fecko. Co-founded Spinea s.r.o. in Prešov, Slovakia in 1994. The TwinSpin eliminates backlash in industrial robot joints and is used by KUKA, ABB, Comau, DMG Mori, and at CERN. Spinea began serial production in 2000 after securing its first major KUKA contract.
