Forrest Iandola
American computer scientist specializing in efficient AI. He earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley in 2016, advised by Kurt Keutzer, and co-authored the SqueezeNet deep neural network architecture for efficient image classification on mobile devices. He co-founded DeepScale with Keutzer to compress deep neural networks onto automotive-grade processors for driver assistance systems.
After Tesla acquired DeepScale in 2019, he joined Tesla's Autopilot team, then moved to Meta as an AI Research Scientist in 2022, where he works on efficient models including EfficientSAM and MobileLLM.
