Co-founder and Chairman of Alibaba Group since September 2023. Taiwanese-Canadian billionaire (net worth ~$11.8B, Forbes 2025). Born in Taipei (1964); educated at Lawrenceville School, Yale College (BA Economics & East Asian Studies, 1986), and Yale Law School (JD, 1990).

Began career at Sullivan & Cromwell, then Investor AB in Hong Kong before joining Jack Ma in 1999 as CFO/COO. Alibaba's second-largest individual shareholder. Also owns the Brooklyn Nets (NBA), New York Liberty (WNBA), and Barclays Center. Major philanthropist: $30M to Yale Law School, $50M to Lincoln Center, co-founded the Social Justice Fund.
