Jungsang Kim

Co-founder and CTO of IonQ and Pierre R. Lamond Distinguished Professor of ECE and Physics at Duke University, specializing in quantum information science and trapped-ion quantum computing. He co-founded IonQ with Chris Monroe in 2015 and the company went public in 2021 as the first pure-play public quantum computing company.

At Duke he directs research on scalable ion-trap quantum processors, integrated photonics for ion control, and quantum networking. He was awarded South Korea's prestigious Changjo (Creation) Award in 2026 for his contributions to engineering and quantum technology.
