Ken Guthrie

General Manager of CUES from 1974 to 1988, hired by Penetryn Systems. Pioneered the foundational equipment of the trenchless technology industry: the first lateral inspection system (LIS) enabling mainline-to-lateral CCTV inspection, the first solid-state mainline sewer CCTV cameras (replacing fragile vidicon/saticon tubes), the first self-propelled sewer CCTV camera transporter (1984), and — in a joint effort with Benthos — the first sewer inspection camera with pan-and-tilt capabilities. Made CUES the world's largest manufacturer of truck-mounted grouting and TV sewer inspection systems during his tenure.
