Lu Xiangyang
Chinese billionaire entrepreneur and co-founder of BYD Company. Born 1962 in Anhui, China. Began his career at a local branch of the People's Bank of China before moving to Guangdong in the early 1990s to work in securities and found Guangzhou Youngy Management and Investment Group.
In 1995, he invested 5 million RMB (approximately CN¥250,000) in the newly formed BYD, founded by his cousin Wang Chuanfu. He also acquired 70% of the world's second-largest lithium mine in Sichuan and a cobalt mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo, securing key links in BYD's battery supply chain.
